I know I experienced a delay or two in 100 or so flights last year, I just don’t remember the specifics of them. The last delay I actually remember was over 2 years ago, and the reason I do remember that one is that it stretched into hours long. Moral of the story – I’ve had an incredibly good run with flight reliability in the last year.

Alas, all good things must come to an end, and while I’m a little leery of jinxing myself, tomorrow may just be the day. It seems that I picked a day that it’s going to snow at my destination…and not just a flurry. The thought of changing my plans to fly this evening crossed my mind, but I simply could not take care of everything I needed to do at home and the office and get packed and to the airport. It is what it is.

Tomorrow, I will travel with just a carry on, get to the airport as early as possible, keep an open mind, and I will be patient. First, forecasting aside, weather doesn’t happen until it happens. Things could change just slightly enough overnight to turn a prediction of 6 inches of snow into a dusting. I’ll just have to wait and see. As a Delta flyer, I have access to the great folks with @DeltaAssist, Sky Club access, and Delta’s iPhone app, which I have successfully used to reschedule flights. If you’re heading to the northeast tomorrow, be prepared, be flexible with your plans if you can, and pack a little patience.
