Yes, after dillying and dallying for days and days, I elected to apply for the Citi AAdvantage Executive card. I’ve been back and forth about this, but I took the routine email I received from American AAdvantage this afternoon as a sign. It contained the following offer.

That 100,000 bonus miles was speaking to me, so I clicked on the link. After completing the application, I received a message that I should call a certain phone number. The long and short of the message was call this number…if you don’t, your application may take longer.

As you might imagine, I called. The very nice person that answered the phone requested the ID # of the application I had just submitted. The very next question was for my cell phone number. I advised that my cell # was likely the number I already provided, but it is XXX-XXX-XXXX. The rep thanked me and asked what kind of credit limit I was looking for? I said at least $XX,000, then the rep put me on hold. She returned a minute or 2 later and advised that I had been approved for a credit limit of $XX,000 (which happened to be about double what I’d said I’d like). The rep welcomed me back and asked if there was anything else I needed. I said no, and was on my way.

So, MJonTravel has applied for the best offer I’ve seen in a long time…very long time. What happened? MrsMJ and I booked a trans-Atlantic voyage from Europe to ‘Merica. I don’t plan on flying over in coach. That is all. YMMV. That said, I think this is a great deal for many people. Who else applied?
